Name Place Animal Thing Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

In short: Name Place Animal Thing ("the app") is an Android game made by Acrota. The app does not collect any personal information, and nothing you do in the app is sent to us.

1.Information stored on your phone

The app saves a few things on your phone so the game works the way you'd expect: your best scores and game statistics, your game settings and sound setting, the player name you choose for playing with friends, and any words you chose to count that weren't in the app's word list. This information stays on your phone. We never receive it. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes it.

2.Playing with friends nearby

Playing with friends connects phones directly to each other over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, using Google Play services' Nearby Connections. No internet connection is used. When you join or host a room, your chosen player name, your answers and your votes are shared only with the other phones in that room, and only while you are playing. Nothing is stored on any server.

3.Permissions

  • Nearby devices, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and local network: used only to find and connect to phones near you for playing with friends.
  • Location: Android requires this permission to scan for nearby phones on some versions. The app never reads, stores or shares your location.
  • Camera: used only to scan a room's QR code when joining a game. Camera images are not saved or shared.

You can play on your own without granting any of these permissions.

4.Advertising and analytics

The app has no ads and no analytics or tracking tools.

5.Children

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
